We can't tell you enough how many times we've encountered Suspected Asbestos Containing Material in the homes we inspect.  Everything from Siding, Attic Insulation, Thermal System Insulation, Flooring, HVAC Systems, the list goes on and on.  Asbestos was an extremely popular building material because of it's anti-microbial characteristics, fire resistance, insulation qualities and long lasting life expectancy.  If it weren't for the simple fact that it's hazardous to your health it'd be a great option, but after the Federal Government realized it was killing people they rushed to correct the problem.  However, because it's use was so widespread there are still countless homes that contain it.
